So I haven't been on in a while...

As you've probably guessed.
I'm not gonna promise I'm gonna be on more.
Because I probably won't be.
But I've recently looked back over the notes and realized "God I was supposed to respond to that a month ago..."
So if you have ever noted me and not gotten an answer, then you have my personal apologies. I feel like a total sack of shit I do.
I'm gonna flip through tomorrow and get some old shit done, but if you ever think "Goddamn Tess it's been a month and a half since I sent that, where were you?" just know that I didn't answer not because of any personal "I meant to do that" it's just that I am that much of a shitty person that I can't remember to respond to people.
So please just bear with me, and please please forgive me if I respond tomorrow to a note you sent in July. I'm just that shitty.

Let's try Commissions! Again

Okay. I want to try opening commissions because I need money for things I want.
I still say I should be able to just trade my cows or one of my daughters' hands in marriage, but whatever.
Anyway. My current thinking goes like this:
I'll go ahead and say it here, that you pay half now and half later. Before paying the second half, I'll show a scaled down version of the picture to make sure you're getting what you want.
For a Sketch, $8
For lineart/grayscale, $15
For something colored with background, $20 or $18
Price can, however, go up or down.
For example, simple character pictures run at $5, $13, and $18. It's just a character standing or in an otherwise simple pose.
Drawing characters without references brings prices up $2.
A second character comes at no additional cost, but after that extra characters come at $3 each.
Beggars can't be choosers so the rules are pretty few right now. I'll draw shipping, original characters, non pony things, comics, and more. I pretty much draw the line at porn and grim stuff.
Other than that go nuts. Message me, ask me, note me on dA, or email me.

Apologies for a Wall of Text

I thought this was an interesting story to tell so I decided to tell it. Mind you that I am completely over these events, and I'm only telling this because I have this story, and I thought someone else out there would want to hear about it. It involves a bunch of laws and economics and I'm profound in neither, but I'll try to write to the best of my knowledge what happened and how things worked out. So here we go.
Okay so while these events really start at around late August and September, they actually go back about a year or two ago when Hannah, a cousin of my mom's, was allowed to rent the house my family and I had lived in when I was just a kid. She would pay however so much per month to my Nana, and we'd use her rent to pay off where we're living now. Eventually though the rent would come in later and later until she would pay maybe $900-something in a year. Now, since my Nana owned the house, my mom (who wanted her to pay or get out) couldn't do anything.
So this went on for some time. Hannah would "forget" the rent and somehow wind up with this fancy brand new car. Eventually though Hannah decided this wasn't enough and talked with a lawyer. They had Nana sign some paper work while everyone else's backs were turned. It turns out that the paper work basically gave Hannah the deed to the house. So she ended up with my childhood home and our best bet of paying off our own financial troubles for maybe $1600 by conning her own aunt who isn't even entirely in her right mind.
Of course my mom wouldn't take this sitting down and decided to get her own lawyer to fight for the house back. The plan was to either get Hannah to give the house back or take her to court.
To be honest the next few months weren't that interesting outside of trying to figure out a way to go about this, but what ends up happening is we find out much later (November to December-ish) that Hannah had put a $50000 loan on the house (if my terminology's right?) in an attempt to drive us off of it. It didn't, and we spent the next month and a half searching for a way to get the loan off the house on the basis that it was never really her's to put up anyway (since she'd basically cheated the house away). After some time though my mom had decided that she couldn't take it any more and our lawyer couldn't give us the results we wanted. So we decided to drop the case and let Hannah have the house since at this point getting the house would have been more trouble than it was really, really worth.
The catch however is that Hannah, while having the house, still has a $50000 loan to pay off. She however is incredibly poor despite being very greedy and could only afford most of the nice things she had through other loans or not paying rent. Her interest is also incredibly high so she can barely afford to pay that off. So in effect the house that she so greedily fought to have as her own became her own prison in a way. She is paying much much much more than she did when she had to pay rent to us, and the bank won't be nearly so forgiving should she "forget" again. All of this on top of debts she already owes.
Now from my understanding, she could have foreclosed, let the bank have the house, and tried again elsewhere. But the thing about that is her credit is already so. BAD. That if she foreclosed, there wouldn't be a single bank in all of North America who would touch her. And she's basically living off the lint in her pockets so there's no way she could make it on her own.
My only regret is that she has two kids who were completely uninvolved, and I would hate if they ended up having to pay for her debt. But as far as Miss Hannah's concerned, I hope she's forced to pay every cent she makes for the rest of her life.
So that's my little story that turned out to be a big wall of text by accident.
